Wondering what will be my first side muse, I roamed on Youtube for ideas, ones that generate passive income.

Some even promise you don’t have to show your face or create original material!

Intrigued, I dug deeper. Many weeks of hard researching work of watching hours of how-to videos, I formulated a plan.. or something vaguely called a plan…

What is something that people will view repeatedly if they like it enough?
Music.

Can it also be useful? What is one of the biggest problems I face?
The pomodoro timer has been helpful for my productivity – time tracking my tasks and helping me focus. Being more aware of time really helps.

So I combined the two ideas.

The videos always make it sound so easy.

“All you have to do is… this.. this… and this!”

After all, I had learnt video editing in school and even done it professionally for years even for the movie studios. The advancements in technology have made editing so much faster and easier now… or so I thought.

Find pieces of royalty free music, add some images, assemble them together, upload to YouTube and “ta-da!”
Was it really that simple? Does it really work?

Here’s what I learnt, so you can know the pit holes before you start.

My Youtube Music Channel framework for passive income.

part 1 of 2.

Outcome: Youtube music channel

Have a popular Youtube Channel that generates income passively from repeated views of evergreen music pomodoro videos.

Deadline: 3 months

Why:

Many “onetime” video efforts published on YT’s network allow for discovery and reaching the wide audiences to generate passive income, even long after it’s published.

With the right music, the targeted audience may enjoy repeated viewings.

Apply known video editing skills and resources.
