There are so many opportunities for the determined to make side income online.
Just how do you decide which one to choose? If you’re reasonably savvy like us and do not know where to begin, follow along!
In this article, we talked about the broad types of side hustles available and what they are.
Today we’ll break down the steps and explain how we’ve decided to put Affiliate Marketing to test as part of our Muse Sprint.
Why did we choose Affiliate Marketing?
If you were ignorant like I was, thinking that you can only be successful in Affiliate Marketing when you have a large readership, I’m glad you’re reading this.
Newsflash: you don’t need a large following to be successful in affiliate marketing.
But how, you ask.
Enter: YouTube gurus sharing their winning techniques on affiliate marketing. I won’t bore you with the details here. Instead, I’ve broken down our thoughts on the pros and cons on why we’ll start our Muse Sprint with affiliate marketing – which is perfect for beginner hustlers.
Pros:
- Low barrier of entry
- Low capital to start
- Minimal maintenance after one-time effort of building it
- Potential to reach mass audience
- Scalable
- Customer support is expertly handled by product owners
- We get to stay in the background to focus on building content and traffic
Cons:
- Saturated market (lots of competition)
- No immediate results
- Requires consistent efforts to build content and acquire traffic before generating revenue
- No control over the terms and conditions of affiliate marketing
- No control over the product (risk of it becoming something you no longer want to recommend)
The pros far outweighs the inconveniences for beginners like us. If we managed some success, it’s going to be worth every effort we put in.
"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."
