For the past year, both of us explored different side hustles and here’s a quick summary of the 3 side hustles we will want to revisit in the near future.
Day Trading Investing:
My partner has been learning how to day trade from various courses.
The idea that you can plan your trades for a few hours each week and use various technical indicators to help ‘point’ you in the right direction to score some wins sounds really lucrative.
But day trading is really a psychological battle of minds and emotions. Takes a lot of practice and mindset shift to stomach the losses and not let the wins get to the head.
And the hope is that over the next few years, as we continue to learn more, we'll be able to achieve a regular side income just from trading a few days a week.
Pomodoro Music YouTube Channel:
Creating a YouTube channel that generates side income consistently sounds great. That is, if we meet YouTube's monetisation requirement.
After watching some Youtube videos on creating ‘no-face’ videos that get repeated views being able to generate ‘passive’ income for years, I jumped in.. For more details, do check out the Atomic Essay mini series on creating the channel.
This is probably the most time consuming of the 3 listed. As you need to source for royalty-free music and visuals.
Print On Demand:
Both my partner and I tried this on our own before we knew each other.
You play the designer role, creating good designs; in the form of T-shirts, mugs and phone covers once. And the platform will handle the rest of the order fulfilment process, including order printing, picking to packaging and shipping sounds like a simple and doable side hustle.
However, not unlike the Youtube Channel, it’s highly dependant on traffic. The more people that sees the creations, the more likely you will succeed.
So we didn’t experience a lot of success for the above but we want to keep trying to find our side muses.
